Pathways to Trade Courses

Australian Technology & Agricultural College links students with appropriate approved training organisations to provide with a chosen pathway to Trade and School-based apprenticeships in various areas such as Agricultural Technology, Automotive & Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Horticultural, Hospitality, and Information Technology etc.

Upon successful completion of skills-based training, the provider can award points that are credited towards Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authorities (QCAA) qualification for Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

About ATAC Pathways Program (Years 10–12)

ATAC has provided a valuable stepping stone for many students who prefer a non‑formal, supportive learning environment to complete their Year 10, 11, or 12 studies.

Students receive individualised support to successfully complete assessment tasks, participate in work experience, and enrol in TAFE courses.

ATAC has established a range of engagement strategies designed to help motivated students achieve success in education and training through alternative pathways.

Qualifications Students Can Achieve

Through our flexible pathways, students can complete:

  • QCE (Year 12)
  • Certificate II in Foundation Skills (FSK)
  • Certificate II in Workplace Skills
  • Certificate I or II from TAFE in a trade course of their choice

Enrolments are now open for 2026 to fill available places in Years 10–12.

Who Can Apply?

This program is suitable for students who:

  • Want to enter the workforce sooner
  • Prefer a friendly and supportive learning environment
  • Would like to achieve up to four certificates by the end of Year 12
  • Enjoy learning practical skills such as poultry, gardening, and cooking
  • Wish to pursue a career in trades
  • Find it challenging to cope within formal schooling systems
  • Have been home‑schooled and are finding it difficult
  • Enjoy physical fitness activities
  • Prefer to learn at their own pace and become independent learners
  • Have difficulties with literacy and numeracy and require individual support
